The George Washington Patriot Boy's
Swim Team took 5th place this last weekend in the Colorado 5A State
Championship at EPIC in Fort Collins.
The highlight of the meet had to be
the 200 Free Relay where Dan Jurgs, Scott Symonds, Mark Maguire, and Ben
Holston took second place and nearly pulled off a huge upset of the team
from Regis. Their time was only one-tenth of a second behind the
winners. The same four boys also took third in the 4*100 Free Relay.
Both relays set DPS and Team Records.
There were several outstanding
individual performances as well:

Senior Mark Maguire: 5th
Place in the 200IM and the 100 Breast

Senior Scott Symonds: 16th
Place in the 200 Free

Junior Jake Witter: 13th
in the 500 Free and 12th in the 200IM

Junior Dan Jurgs: 3rd Place
in the 50 Free and 9th in the 100 Free

Sophomore Ben Holston: 3rd
Place in the 500 Free and 200 Free
